ANGINA PECTORIS

It is a one type of severe chest pain in the heart due imbalance between oxygen supply and demand.

TYPES OF ANGINA PECTORIS

Stable AnginaStable plaque in coronary arteries and pain occurs when work load of heart increased due to any reason like exercise.
Unstable AnginaPain lasts a few minutes and occurs in a pattern, such as during exercise or stress.
Microvascular AnginaPain can be stronger or last longer than stable angina and can occur both during rest and after exercise.
Variant Anginathis type of angina occurs due to coronary spasm Pain is strong and happens during rest, usually between midnight and early morning.

FACTORS INCREASE DEMAND OF OXYGEN

Physical activityIncrease work load of heart such as exercise, dancing, playing.
Exposure to coldCold cause vasoconstriction, increase heart rate and oxygen demand
Eating a heavy mealHeavy meal increase the blood flow to the mesenteric area, decrease blood flow to the heart
Stress conditionStress stimulate the sympathetic Nervous system and increase heart rate and oxygen demand .
HypertensionIt cause thickening of blood vessels walls and reduce  enough oxygen supply to the heart

PATHOGENESIS OF ANGINA

Step 1:- Obstruction (blockage & vasospasm) in coronary arteries

Step 2:- Ischemia

Step 3:- Hypoxia

Step 4:- Lack of oxygen in heart tissue

Step 5:- Lactic acid deposition

Step 6:- Damage heart cell

Step 7:- Chest pain (Angina)
